The Power Of Drawing #6

What has been happening this month?

I've restarted The Artist's Way (for the third time!) and took myself off to Hampstead Heath for the afternoon as one my "Artist Dates. Here are some sketches:

I completed a commission for a Father's Day Gift, a family of foxes:

And now onto the next commission: "What you seek is seeking you" Rumi.

I completed my first wedding calligraphy commission:

Now onto the next calligraphy commission for a Naming Day Ceremony.

And I filled the first 5 free spaces on my new online course for creatives: "Ready to Sell"

Early bird offer ends 12pm on 15th August - limited spaces available. See this link for more information about the course, and this link for the course timetable or visit my online shop to book your place.

It's a course for creatives of any discipline who want to be supported and coached through the process of making a body of work that is Ready to Sell. What I'm learning is that creatives need creatives and no great thing can be made alone. I listened to this podcast of Liz Gilbert (Creativity Guru) and Brene Brown (Vulnerability Guru) and it underlined all my beliefs about the creative process.

In recognition of the need for community and support, I will now be commuting to my own studio space in Hackney Downs Studios.

And finally, three artists enjoyed a beautiful day of drawing (but mostly gossiping and swapping tips on how to make sketchbooks and create effects with paint) in Whitstable, hosted by Cathy McTurk. And Ros Wyatt was reunited unexpectedly with her friend from RCA Margot Selby.
